#WINNING … in the SC Courts!

Part 2

Published

on

The SC Republican Platform had two huge victories in South Carolina courts this week … one a 4-1 SC Supreme Court Ruling for Life (HERE) … the second a “settlement” victory for the 2nd Amendment (see below).

Both situations should never have been in court … and neither should have been in the courts for as long as they were … but both were victories typically not seen in the SC State Judicial System.

Why?

Because SC needs #JudicialReform!!!

These two court victories are a sign that things are changing here in South Carolina … because of YOU … and as such we need to #DoubleDOWN!!!  #PressON!!!  #PressHARDER!!!

PART 2

ILLEGAL SIGNS REMOVED!

Attorney Lauren Martel (HERE) filed this 2nd Amendment case on behalf of her client Graham Horsman against the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission (CCPR) back on October 4th, 2022 … and almost 11 month later it has been settled!!!

Read the Summons & Complaint HERE.

Background: Three-foot by four-foot unlawful firearm signs were originally erected in August 2021 prohibiting the carrying of firearms on 11,000 acres of public land in Charleston, and subjecting concealed weapon permit holders to fines, arrest, and imprisonment.

This firearm ban was enforced in direct violation of S.C. Code Ann. §23-31-510 (HERE), which prohibits the governing body of any county, municipality, or other political subdivision in the state from regulating the transfer, ownership, possession, carrying, or transportation of firearms, ammunition, components of firearms, or any combination of these things.

Senator Shane Martin (R – Greenville, Spartanburg & Union) stepped in and requested a SC Attorney General’s Office Opinion on the matter … and as expected the AG’s Office opined that the CCPR signs were illegal.

Read the SC Attorney Generals Opinion HERE.

But even then, with a July 22, 2022, SC Attorney Generals Opinion … it still took the filing of a lawsuit (on October 4, 2022) and 13 months for the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission to VOTE on August 21st, 2023, to settle the lawsuit and immediately remove the signs.

Congratulations and thank you to Mr. Horsman, Attorney Lauren Martel, Senator Shane Martin & Representative Matt Leber … and the folks at South Carolina Carry … for this legal victory and making this happen for the Citizens of South Carolina.

GET INVOLVED … BOARDS & COMMISSIONS

One major lesson learned here … as this case involves a citizens board … YOU must get involved in your LOCAL boards & commissions.

The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission (HERE) is composed of seven citizens nominated by the Charleston County Council and appointed by the Governor of South Carolina. Commissioners vote on policy-related issues and serve two-year staggered terms. Consecutive terms are not limited.

So yes, Governor McMaster APPOINTED these commissioners that REFUSED to comply with the law until forced with a lawsuit. He could have fixed this, or at least prevented it!

These are the things we elect our Governor to do, and it is not that hard to do. Citizens are asking why isn’t Governor McMaster (or his staff) doing it? We would all like to know.

Friends, there are City Boards, County Boards, Legislative Boards and State Boards … if your are not on one (or two or three) … YOU need to get on one.

We will have more on how to soon … so stay tuned.

StepUP! #GetINVOLVED!

Watch This Email Trick … YES, they are this petty

“Blowing out someone else’s candle …

Published

on

We are not talking the late musician Tom Petty (HERE) or the famous NASCAR driver Richard Petty (HERE) … but we are talking the petty little people out there in politics that do dirty little things just for spite.

PETTY DEFINED: The Urban Dictionary defines petty as “a person who is purposefully childish with the intent of eliciting a reaction,” or “someone who does something in an attempt to hurt another person but really makes themselves look stupid.”

Petty Email Tricks

There are two nasty “political” email tricks we have noticed over the years that are hard to believe, but actually happen all the time.

(#1) Unsubscribing others from emails: First off, we have people contact us all the time saying they no longer receive our emails and asking what happened. We will check and the system will say they unsubscribed.

But the person never unsubscribed … so what happened?

Generally the person has forwarded our email to others in their precinct … and one of those people (a RINO) marked the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of the email footer.

Maybe by mistake … but most people know what they are doing, and they are doing it on purpose and to be nasty and petty.

SIMPLE SOLUTION … before you forward emails, remove the “unsubscribe” links from the footer of the email. Just highlight the links and hit delete … especially if you are forwarding the email to RINOs. 😉 It is easy.

(#2) Marking valid emails as “SPAM”: This petty little email trick is a classic.

As you may know, the more people that mark an email as “SPAM”, the more likely the big email providers (Google, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) with automatically send those emails to “JUNK”.

Folks that don’t want others to see / read our emails (yes, RINOs again) will mark them as “SPAM” on purpose … and we have seen many an experienced political operative, and even politicians, mark our emails as SPAM.

We even had one person this month sign-up for our email (“shawn.m.miller@outlook.com“) … using an obvious fake name (“Jim LaHounae”) … and when they opened their first email from us (ironically a mySCGOP Happy Sunday email), they marked it as SPAM.

Really nasty right?!?!? Especially given the Sunday message … but this is what these petty & envious people do.

When folks are scared others will hear your message and learn … petty political people will do everything they can to silence your voice. Granted anyone could have signed up “shawn.m.miller@outlook.com” … but only the one person with that email address could have marked it as “SPAM”. Not nice.

LearnTheirTRICKS!!!

DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE: As the saying goes … “it is better to light a candle than curse the darkness”.

Translation: if you’re not happy, do something about it … and that doesn’t mean go out and be petty and nasty to other people living their mission or dream … it means to go out an build something positive and good yourself.

Remember, “envy” is one of the seven deadly sins.

DontBePETTY!!!

mySCGOP.news, September 26, 2023: TRUMP Derangement Syndrome (TDS) … we have all heard of it … pulled our hair out over it … and for those of us that like to get into the details and use critical thinking skills, we feel like it is utter insanity!!!!

But what do you do when someone you KNOW PERSONALLY exhibits the exact same traits of derangement syndrome? [CONTINUE READING]
