It is a bit interesting that you don’t hear anyone in the media talking about it much … but “In Case You Missed It” (ICYMI) … Nikki Haley did not register for the 2024 Nevada Republican Caucus on February 8th.
Say what?!?!?
Yes, it is true. Her campaign signed up for the Nevada Primary on February 6th … but not the Nevada State GOP Caucus on February 8th, which is where all 26 of the delegates will be awarded.
Talk about a flub!
This was a decision her campaign made back in mid-October 2023 … and one we can only guess she wishes she could take back.

DUELING PRIMARY vs. CAUCUS
How did these competing contests come about? Nevada has long been a caucus state for both the Republican and Democratic parties, but a state law enacted in 2021 mandated a primary if more than one candidate files — as has obviously happened in the 2024 race.
The Democratic Party has since adopted the primary for 2024, but the Nevada Republican Party decided to hold a caucus anyway, declaring that the caucus would be the only way for candidates to win delegates regardless of the outcome of the required primary.
State Republicans unsuccessfully sought to stop the primary entirely, but the courts allowed them to restrict delegates only to the separate caucus … so here we are.
Nevada Primary Contestants (for show): Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Mike Pence and some long shot candidates.
Nevada Caucus Contestants (for the 26 delegates): Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie, Doug Burgum and pastor and entrepreneur Ryan Binkley.
CHEAP? Many suspect the real reason certain candidates opted for the Primary vs. the State GOP Caucus may be the money (or at the time they thought they had no chance to win and did not want to waste the money).
The caucus cost $55,000 (or a discounted $35,000 if you do a fundraiser with the Nevada GOP).
Again … we can only suspect Nikki Haley wishes she could take back her mid-October decision.

And on a lighter note … expect this as the next debate “prop” from Vivek Ramaswamy … #Incompetent!!!
