South Carolina is shaping up to be GROUND ZERO in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race. The gloves are coming off … and the prevailing wisdom is South Carolina is where the next Republican nominee for President will be determined … and the establishment will stop at nothing to stop Donald J. Trump!
Enter Americans For Prosperity Action (AFP Action) & the Koch brothers & $70 million dollars.
YES .. $70 million according to the New York Times (HERE)… and we here in South Carolina are starting to see the money show up in our mailboxes.
The “Mailers”
The talk of the town in SC politics right now is “who” is sending these anti-TRUMP mailers??? Who is AFP Action??? Why are they sending these mailers???
It has created a bit of a stir among the pro-Trump crowd … and it all started the Monday after what most consider a highly successful Independence Day TRUMP Rally in Pickens SC on July 1st.
We are told the timing as such could not have been worse … but as the New York Times article states … they have $70 million dollars … and apparently they have to spend it.
[NOTE: Mailers must be planned in advance. They have to be printed, addressed, stamped and ready to go, often weeks in advance. The first mailer was delivered on Monday July 3rd, so it was likely mailed the prior Thursday or Friday … before the Pickens TRUMP Rally. Maybe if the rally had been a flop the timing would have been perfect … but that was the risk AFP Action took, and they seem to have lost that bet. So if AFP Action was wrong at predicting the best timing for a mailer last week … why would you believe the predictions of their fliers about a presidential election 16 months in the future?
The 2nd mailer must have already been in the works as well … and once you have that amount of $$$ spent / invested … would you pull the mailer, or just let it fly and see what happens? Put yourself in AFP Action’s shoes … what would you do, and what would you do next? Another mailer … or stop the pain?]
July 3rd – AFP Mailer
July 10th – AFP Mailer
BASIC RULES
In politics … and the mental manipulation of the masses for political gain … we need to set some ground rules … and these mailers are a good example.
First, realize no one, except our Father, knows what is going to happen if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee in 2024. Just because AFP Action or anyone else “says” something, doesn’t mean it is true. We do not have a crystal ball … nor does AFP Action.
Remember … what do we teach? “TRUST NO ONE, not even us!!!” Everyone has an agenda. What is AFP Action, the Koch Brothers and their $70 million dollar “agenda”? Obviously to stop TRUMP … but why? Prevailing wisdom is they want open borders and cheap labor for business … and TRUMP wants a Wall. (Washington Post, April 3, 2019). Which do you want?
And a lot of people say this is a personal rift between billionaires and egos. The Koch brothers originally supported TRUMP … and we know TRUMP does not hold back his opinions … and he has shared one opinion about the Kochs (CNN, July 30, 2018 … Trump says Koch brothers are a ‘total joke’).
You decide.
Who Is AFP?
AFP = Americans For Prosperity
Americans for Prosperity (AFP), founded in 2004, is a libertarian (not Republican) conservative political advocacy group in the United States funded by Charles Koch and his brother David Koch. [See full AFP Wikipedia page HERE.]
The Koch brothers, even though David passed away in 2019, are in the $60 BILLION net worth range … each … so they have money … and lots of it to influence YOU into thinking and doing what fits their agenda. It is for you to decide if their agenda is your agenda as well.
As for the organizational structure of AFP, this is a good time to see how most of these political organizations are built … using three distinct legal structures. This AFP model is very standard and each entity / level can legally do certain things and not others. Follow the money … and follow the law!!!

AFP South Carolina: And yes, AFP does have a South Carolina organization and has for some time. We get asked all the time by grassroots advocates and folks new to the political scene here in South Carolina, “what do we think of AFP?”
Well, the real question is what will the grassroots now think of AFP? Time will tell … stay tuned.
