We have been surprised at the amount of interest in the October 6th Davis v. Leupp SC Court of Appeals article (HERE) … and how it relates to the desperate need for Judicial Reform here in South Carolina.
Well … guess what … WE WON!!!
Last Thursday the SC Court of Appeals issued it’s ruling that the case be REVERSED AND REMANDED. That simply means the ruling of the lower Court here in Greenville was overturned (i.e., reversed) and the case is being sent back (i.e., remanded) back to the lower court for further disposition.
So … now we get back to the original case against Mr. Nate Leupp … who happens to be the former Chairman of the Greenville County Republican Party (GCRP) … my immediate predecessor as Chairman of the GCRP … and interestingly enough the employee of Rep. Adam Morgan (R – Greenville), Chairman of the SC Freedom Caucus.
How Did It Get This BAD?
As many of you who reached out … including lawyers who understand the civil procedure issues … this appeal was a Law School 101 case. Many have asked “how in the heck was this case originally dismissed?” Well, IT IS THAT BAD IN OUR SOUTH CAROLINA COURTS!!!
Ask yourself … what are the ramifications? The trial court Judge who improperly dismissed the case is retiring next year. What does he care? Does he lose his retirement? Of course not. Will this ruling overturning his order impact a future re-appointment … NO!!! Years of delay … it seems the goal was achieve no matter what the outcome.
YES … JUDICIAL REFORM!!!
GOOD NEWS … JUDICIAL REFORM is going to be a hot topic in the 2024 SC Legislative Session. South Carolina is one of two states that allows it’s legislators to pick our judges. This is not just a criminal issue … it is civil as well … so no half measures … only FULL JUDICIAL REFORM!!!
And guess what … 9 of the 16 Solicitors in South Carolina … Republicans & Democrats … wrote an unprecedented letter (see HERE) about it just YESTERDAY!!!
There is so much more the come, but it is happening … so stay tuned as we dig deeper … share with you more examples … and keep pushing!!!

Proverbs 13:4 is a powerful reminder that your efforts are not wasted! Even when immediate results are hard to see, when it feels like your hard work is not producing results, trust that in fact the change is incremental and often requires decades of persistent work by dedicated individuals.
Your years of showing up, whether through grassroots organizing, advocating, educating others, or amplifying contentious voices are laying the foundation for change and the change itself! Just think of those that used to be involved and are not today. Your ability to keep going, sets you apart!
“The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.”

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), consistency builds integrity … turns values into impact. Sadly we watch fellow patriots “turn” … change their stances, go against those that they should be supporting based on their convictions.

Senator Richard Cash‘s S323 Sub-Committee Hearing was held today … and it was a full day … 9 HOURS!!! At the end of the day the Pro-Lifer’s appeared to win the argument … but time will tell.

Why people change? Constantly navigating conflicting views or defending unpopular stances can easily lead to burnout. As we all know, politics can also reward compromise with tangible benefits.
It’s about recognizing these pressures and choosing to prioritize principle over ease, even when it’s hard. Those who steadfastly uphold justice and compassion, refusing to bend under pressure, are the real winners. Their unwavering commitment to doing right, defending the oppressed, and advocating for the vulnerable, creates lasting impact and earns true respect, outshining those who trade integrity for fleeting gains.
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”
Isaiah 1:17
To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), when do you set boundaries? While you try to correct the bad behavior with clarity and grace, pay attention to patterns.

When do you set boundaries? While you try to correct the bad behavior with clarity and grace, pay attention to patterns. Is the person’s behavior consistently disruptive or disrespectful? Are they unwilling to listen or change? Are they not willing to discuss? Time to set or escalate boundaries. Disengage from the person to protect your peace and the community’s well-being. Forgive but don’t enable.
“As for a person who stirs up division, after warning them once and then twice, have nothing more to do with them, knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.”
Titus 3:10-1
To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), embrace opposition as part of our mission, criticism as spiritual resistance, resilience in faith, remain steadfast, NEVER NEVER GIVE UP!
