August 15th Deadline … RUN FOR OFFICE!!!
“If not you, WHO? If not now, WHEN?”
Friends, we can sit out here and scream at the TV or Computer Monitor … or we can GET INVOLVED!!!
Y’all know our preference for all of you … and that is for you to GET INVOLVED!!!
HUNDREDS OF ELECTED OFFICES: We are all focused on the JUNE 11th, 2024 partisan primaries … which is only 308 days way … but this November 7th, 2023, there are literally HUNDREDS of local and municipal non-partisan elections up for grabs.
ONLY 32 VOTES: Some of these races are won with 32 votes … total!!! Seriously, we had a local Fire Commission speak to us at Coffee & Politics last Friday and 32 votes is all he needed to be elected for a 6 year term.
TOWN OF FORT LAWN?: Ever heard of it? Only 962 residents as of the 2020 census … but guess what … they have an election on November 7th, 2023 … and if you live in the Town of Fort Lawn you need to know about it … and maybe RUN FOR OFFICE!!!
Friends … the solution to Saving American & Saving South Carolina is we have to get up off the couch!!! RUN FOR OFFICE … or help someone RUN FOR OFFICE!!! You have to pick one.

CONTACT YOUR COUNTY ELECTION OFFICE – TODAY!!!: It is nearly impossible to figure out all the elected positions available in South Carolina … probably by design … but chances are you have a local election on November 7th, 2023, and you or a friend should be running for that position.
Contact your local COUNTY ELECTION OFFICE … TODAY!!! Find out what elections are coming up … and share that information with your Patriot friends.
BUTTS IN SEATS: Not to be rude, but if your “butt” is not in that elected seat … someone else’s “butt” will be … and you have no one to blame except yourself when they vote to raise your taxes, indoctrinate your kids, provide cover to RINOs, etc., etc., etc. It is up to YOU!!!
AUGUST 15TH – NOON
You generally have until NOON on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 to file for these local elected offices. That is only 7 days … so get busy!!!
You can also see if anyone has signed up already to run in a particular election by using the “Candidate Tracking” system (article HERE) on the SC State Election Commission (SEC) website. If someone has already filed to run … VET THEM!!! Maybe thy are good, maybe they are bad … check them out, and if necessary … FILE FOR OFFICE YOURSELF!!!
Don’t be afraid … YOU CAN DO THIS … or you know a friend that would love to do this (if they only knew positions were available) … so RUN FOR OFFICE … or help someone RUN FOR OFFICE … TODAY!!!

OK friends … this one is a homework assignment.
Joe Kernell has served as Greenville County Administrator since 2004. Over that time, he has become one of the most controversial figures in local Greenville politics. Despite repeated calls over the years—if not the past decade—to “make a change,” Kernell remains in place.
So what’s going on?
The 2024 County Council elections brought significant turnover, with four new members (out of twelve total) campaigning – at least in part – on removing Kernell. Yet, just before those new members were sworn in, his contract was renewed on December 3, 2024.
Then it happened again.
On January 20, 2026, Kernell’s contract was extended for an additional 18 months—reportedly as a “final” extension. Voters were told Council had no real option but to approve the extension.
But does that actually make sense?
Remember: Watch what they DO, not what they SAY.
So here’s the assignment:
Below are the employment contracts for Kernell dating back to 2006. Many of you have legal or human resources backgrounds. Take a close look and tell us what you see.
Is there – or was there – a way out of these contracts?
We’re told the answer is no. That Council’s hands were tied.
But as we often say: where there is a WILL, there is a WAY.
So the real question becomes:
Was there simply no will to replace Kernell?
