Sex Offender Database – It’s FREE!
TRAFFICKING IS REAL!
As a companion to yesterday’s Criminal Records Search article (HERE), today we are going to introduce how to search the Sex Offender Registry.
And the good news … the sex offender registry is FREE!!!
And the bad news … when we search within 3 miles of our home here in Greenville there were 211 registered sex offenders (23 within 1 mile & 100 within 2 miles).
YES … 211 … within 3 miles!!!
And the sad news … we don’t think that is unusual.
[NOTE: TRAFFICKING IS REAL! Whether the database is over-inclusive or under-inclusive in “who” has to (or should) register as a convicted Sex Offender, the numbers do show that like drugs, sex is a base human condition / desire. For those of us that at one time thought “Human Trafficking“ or “Child Sex Trafficking” was just some conspiracy theory … know that it is not. It is a real problem and some of the things we have heard out there get very dark … and involve politics … so be aware. Go see the new movie … Sound of Freedom.]

SLED Sex Offender Registry (SOR):
Like the criminal records search database (HERE), there are significant detailed “Terms and Conditions” you should be aware of with the Sex Offender Registry. Namely, don’t get yourself in trouble by using the database to harass someone. Use the database, but use common sense too.
DISCLAIMER: “Information on this site should not be used to unlawfully injure, harass, or commit a crime against any individual named in the registry or residing or working at any reported address and that any such action could result in civil or criminal penalties.”
SEARCH TOOLS: South Carolina recently moved to a new sex offender management application called the Sex Offender Registry Tool (SORT) as provided by the US Department of Justice. So, you can us the SC tool … or we would recommend you go directly to the national database … or both just to be safe!!!

The opposition hates it so much … and we temporarily had to move it to a local DENNY’S restaurant … because they actually filed a ZONING / Business Use violation as we were not authorized to have public meetings inside our HQ (outside is OK) as we are just formally permitted as a “business office” AND a PODCAST STUDIO!!! Yes, we are formally permitted at our HQ as a PodCast Studio … so guess what we can do!!!
We are now LIVESTREAMING the meeting not just for our local Greenville Friends … but also statewide (and worldwide as we have had members watch from Europe & even from a transatlantic cruise).
