Greenville to WIN — Organize to WIN!!!
Unprecedented property tax increase DEFEATED on 3rd Reading.
Einstein is famous for saying “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” Given the results here in South Carolina … namely our CPAC rating, status as an abortion destination state, and a host of others “worst on the list” items … we certainly need to do things differently.
And in Greenville … there is no doubt we do things differently!!!
Last night at the Greenville County Council meeting, an unprecedented property tax increase which passed 2nd reading just two weeks ago … was DEFEATED on 3rd Reading.
The “establishment” pulled out all the tricks … it even appeared the Chairman teared up when making his impassioned plea to pass the budget with the tax increase. The 1st Vice Chair likewise pulled on peoples heartstrings when she (falsely) claimed that county employees could lose their jobs as soon as June 30.
It was incredible!!!
But at the end of the discussion … even thought the tax increase passed 8 to 4 two weeks ago … it was DEFEATED on Tuesday night 6 to 6.
It was exciting!!!
“You won’t be politically respected, until you are politically feared!”
District Precinct Meetings:
We preach that if you really want change, the Precincts need to work together … all 2,261 Precincts in SC!!!
Precincts need to have “District” meetings … they need to socialize together, train together … and CAMPAIGN together!!!
And ideally, when the Precincts are working together … future candidates and future leaders will rise up from our grassroots America FIRST movement. How better to do candidate recruitment than to find candidates who are already doing the job of a leader, and are well known in the local political community!
District examples: County Council, SC House, SC Senate, School Board … and Congressional Districts!!!
And when Precincts are organized and working together in their Districts, those Precincts have influence, real influence. The one off calls & emails about legislative issues … even when there are lots of calls & emails … are nowhere near as effective as every single member of precinct leadership in an elected officials “district” speaking with one voice. Organized and ready to go into action if their elected official goes “rogue”.
Imagine … if you were an elected County Councilman … would you want all 13 +++ precincts leaders mad at YOU?!?!?

The twist … this Councilman continued voting “yes” on the tax increase. We can assure you, more than a few signatories to this letter will not forget it … and several have personally committed to start campaigning for an opponent!!! One year to the June 2024 Primaries!!!
Go ahead … start ORGANIZING your local precincts by elected DISTRICTS … and start meeting. You won’t regret it. We don’t!!!

OK friends … this one is a homework assignment.
Joe Kernell has served as Greenville County Administrator since 2004. Over that time, he has become one of the most controversial figures in local Greenville politics. Despite repeated calls over the years—if not the past decade—to “make a change,” Kernell remains in place.
So what’s going on?
The 2024 County Council elections brought significant turnover, with four new members (out of twelve total) campaigning – at least in part – on removing Kernell. Yet, just before those new members were sworn in, his contract was renewed on December 3, 2024.
Then it happened again.
On January 20, 2026, Kernell’s contract was extended for an additional 18 months—reportedly as a “final” extension. Voters were told Council had no real option but to approve the extension.
But does that actually make sense?
Remember: Watch what they DO, not what they SAY.
So here’s the assignment:
Below are the employment contracts for Kernell dating back to 2006. Many of you have legal or human resources backgrounds. Take a close look and tell us what you see.
Is there – or was there – a way out of these contracts?
We’re told the answer is no. That Council’s hands were tied.
But as we often say: where there is a WILL, there is a WAY.
So the real question becomes:
Was there simply no will to replace Kernell?
