SC House Hearing on Closed Primaries

H3643 SCGOP Bill vs H3310 Patriot Bill

Published

on

Closed Primaries is one of the top legislative issues for MAGA / America FIRST Patriots in South Carolina … and it is a plank in the SCGOP Platform. So why is it so hard to get?

That is somewhat of a rhetorical question as we all understand that in South Carolina we have A LOT of moderate (if not left-leaning) “Republicans” that count on Democrat cross-over votes to win their GOP Primary.

Although we have been promised for decades now that registration by party (as an initial step) and ultimately closed primaries is a goal of SCGOP establishment leadership … but we have NEVER seen a real effort … until this year.

Why the change in 2026? Why is the SCGOP pushing sooooooo hard for their bill, H3643? Simple … this year we have a “candidate qualification” provision (unrelated to closed primaries) that allows the establish to KEEP OUT certain candidates, and give a pass to those they like.

See the 2 hour hearing held on Wednesday January 21st, 2026, and judge for your self.

The Missing Story Behind the Alex Pretti Minnesota Shooting

What Is the New American Development Center?

Published

on

At mySCGOP.news, we focus on South Carolina state and local politics … but we did want to venture into the national story of the weekend — the Alex Pretti ICE shooting in Minnesota — and challenge you to look a little deeper (with all matters), and to take a peek at the “business” in the background in Minnesota.

There is A LOT of talk about the shooting — and we have all seen the videos circulating — but look in the background and ask yourself, What is the New American Development Center?”

A quick search shows it is not a daycare center … but yet another type of NGO (non-governmental organization) with the espoused (and government-funded) mission to reduce poverty for Somali and East African immigrant and refugee communities.

How much does that cost taxpayers? $1,441,733 in government grants in 2024. The Executive Director earned $163,900 in 2024$168,323 in salary for other “disqualified” people/persons … $40,000 in lobbying … and a host of other “expenses” that are very questionable as to the amounts, and we can only guess who received those funds.

See the publicly available IRS Form 990 below or HERE.

Is this yet another apparent sham uncovered with about five minutes of Google searches?

South Carolina Attorney General candidate DAVID PASCOE has committed to establishing a PCU — Public Corruption Unit — when he takes office. Minnesota (and the U.S.) may need a PCU too.

As we teach, when something doesn’t make sense — DIG DEEPER!!!

Happy Sunday – January 25, 2026

Genesis 8:22

Published

on

As the Upstate hunkers down under this weekend’s ice and snow, it’s a good time to remember that while the weather outside is unpredictable, the promises we lean on are not.

Even in the midst of this icy storm, God’s word stands firm. The same faithful hand that brings the cold of winter will surely bring the warmth of spring, the seedtime of renewal, and the harvest of blessing. Seasons change, but His covenant does not.

The ice may be slick today, but the foundation we stand on is as solid as ever. Stay warm, stay safe, and remember, spring is never as far away as it feels in January.

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), as conservatives, we know that America’s greatness is not found in the size of its government, but in the character of its people.

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday – January 18, 2026

Proverbs 14:34

Published

As conservatives, we know that America’s greatness is not found in the size of its government, but in the character of its people. True prosperity follows when we align our laws and our lives with God’s moral truths. Let’s keep honoring God, remain
steadfast in our commitment to the values that exalt our nation  and keep our country free.

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall – Paul wrote these words to remind the early church (and us today) that even those who feel strongest in their faith, principles, and positions are not immune to temptation, complacency, unexpected stumbles, rebellion and overconfidence.

Happy Sunday!

Greenville County Republican Party Chairman Jeff Davis Issues Statement on RJ May Sentencing

Greenville County Republican Party Chairman Statement on RJ May’s Sentencing

Greenville, SC – January 14, 2026 – The Greenville County Republican Party (GCRP) expresses its sincere gratitude to the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina for their diligent and thorough work in prosecuting former State Representative and co-founder of the SC Freedom Caucus, RJ May, on federal charges of distributing child sexual abuse material.

We are thankful for the comprehensive investigation and prosecution that ensured accountability, culminating in today’s court-imposed sentence of 17.5 years in federal prison, to be followed by 20 years of supervised release and $58,000 in restitution to victims.

As a public servant who advanced legislation aimed at punishing child abusers and protecting vulnerable individuals, Mr. May’s private actions in distributing such horrific and depraved material represent a profound betrayal of public trust and the very principles he publicly championed. He, above all others, should have known better.

Chairman Jeff Davis of the Greenville County Republican Party stated: “It is disgusting but not surprising to find this level of depravity in South Carolina politics. This case is a stark reminder of how predators can hide behind positions of power and public virtue, making the betrayal even more egregious.”

Crimes against children are among the most heinous offenses imaginable, and we stand firmly with the victims and their families in demanding full justice. The Greenville County GOP remains unwavering in its commitment to upholding the rule of law, protecting the innocent, and supporting every effort to combat child exploitation at all levels.

We continue to pray for healing and restoration for all those affected by this tragedy.
