Matthew 18:15–17

Published

on

In politics … Matthew 18:15-17 may be one of the most important verses to remember and reflect upon.  It is for us personally. The lies and rumors spread by so many … so many that come from the Christian community … are frankly dumbfounding.

We simply can’t lie.  Do not speak ill in the shadows.  Seek to correct actions and sins … don’t seek to amplify and exaggerate them … or worse use false rumors and gossip … to enrich yourself and further your self-interested agenda.

If someone else comes to you with a troubling story … run it to ground. Go straight to the source.  Find out if it is true.  Ask the subject of the “rumor” and find out if it is true … or if the person who told it to you is a perpetrator. You may lose friends. But you cannot condone gossip.

And if the “rumor” is a lie … go to your brother or sister and correct THEIR actions.  And if they do not listen … take one or two others … and if they refuse, tell the church … and ultimately treat them as a pagan if necessary.

This is the only way to end the circle of lies that are so pervasive in politics … especially South Carolina politics. Stop it now.

If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
Matthew 18:15–17

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), Pointless arguments … how often doe you get distracted by lies or half truths, manipulation, or excuses? …

Happy Sunday!

Hebrews 13:8

Published

on

Hebrews 13:8 offers a timeless standard for all of us: true leadership—at any level—is marked by unwavering consistency, reflecting the unchanging nature of Christ, who is the same “yesterday, today, and forever.”

A person of integrity remains firmly anchored to their core principles, undeterred by shifting political winds, proximity to power, or peer influence. They provide a steady foundation for those they lead and those around them. When someone begins to shift positions or abandon long-held convictions, it often signals questionable motives—whether driven by political expediency, access, promises of power, or personal reward.

In the end, Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that while the world constantly changes, a person truly worth your time and trust is one whose values remain as constant as the truth they embody.

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), as we reflect on the lessons of this past year, Colossians 3:15 serves as a powerful reminder that our most important work begins within, by allowing the peace of Christ to act as the “umpire” of our hearts in every decision we make.

Colossians 3:15

Published

As we reflect on the lessons of this past year, Colossians 3:15 serves as a powerful reminder that our most important work begins within, by allowing the peace of Christ to act as the “umpire” of our hearts in every decision we make.

As we step into the New Year, let the defining lesson of 2025 be this: true influence is not found in the sharpest whispers , but in the truth, steady spirit and hard work that chooses gratitude for where we have been and invites the peace of Christ to guide where we are going, setting us toward even greater impact in 2026

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), Isaiah 9:6 offers a powerful guide for personal growth this Christmas season …

Isaiah 9:6

Published

on

Isaiah 9:6 offers a powerful guide for personal growth this Christmas season.

The ‘Wonderful Counselor’ reminds us to seek wisdom and choose discernment instead of reacting impulsively. The ‘Prince of Peace’ calls us to cultivate a steady inner calm that holds firm, even in disagreements and heated debates.

Ultimately, this Scripture invites us to lead with character first – making sure our service flows from a commitment to wisdom, patience, and a peaceful spirit.

Happy Fourth Sunday of Advent!

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), as we work tirelessly for stronger South Carolina, remember to remain patient, persistent, and firm in pursuing long-term goals, trusting that faithful effort will eventually yield results, much like a farmer’s harvest.

Happy Sunday!
