Get Involved – Be  a State Constable!

South Carolina Law Enforcement Training Council

Published

on

https://www.sled.sc.gov/constables

We generally write about a lot of “heavy” stuff. Things that make you THINK … things that make you WORK … and often things that might not agree with your current world view … like telling you your “heroes” (be them RINOs or SCFC) that say they are conservative might not be telling you the truth.  You know … “Watch what they DO, not what they SAY.”

But today we want to share with you something that we learned about a few years ago from a SC State Senator who is a one … but we have also seen a few other politicians that are as well …. so there must be something to it …

… and it is a SC State Constable!!!

Many of us have gotten our Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) … and then we ask ourselves, “what’s next?”  Some of us may want to be more civically / officially involved … but are too “old” to enlist in the National Guard or Reserves … or don’t want to work full time for state or local government … or don’t (yet) want to RUN FOR OFFICE (HERE) … this might be a good outlet for that civic duty energy.

State Constables are appointed as sworn peace officers authorized to enforce the Laws of the State as specified by law and their Commissions. It is all volunteer, and they primarily assist and support various law enforcement agencies as an extra police officer, as needed.  You can assist with law enforcement at high school or college sporting events, festivals, join police while on patrols … and some have even provided behind the scenes security for President TRUMP when he is in town.  You want to get involved, this could be it.

REQUIREMENTS:  Know upfront that it is not simple task as there is an extensive training requirement and a thorough background search. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Training Council must certify all State Constables as qualified for public service as a law enforcement officer … and again, this is all volunteer, so be prepared to pay for your training and gear.  It’s not like an old western movie where you are simply “deputized” … this is serious stuff and serious training.

Check it out … and let us know what you think (especially if you are or have been a SC Constable) …  we just wanted everyone to be aware that it exists as an option.

Hebrews 13:8

Published

on

Hebrews 13:8 offers a timeless standard for all of us: true leadership—at any level—is marked by unwavering consistency, reflecting the unchanging nature of Christ, who is the same “yesterday, today, and forever.”

A person of integrity remains firmly anchored to their core principles, undeterred by shifting political winds, proximity to power, or peer influence. They provide a steady foundation for those they lead and those around them. When someone begins to shift positions or abandon long-held convictions, it often signals questionable motives—whether driven by political expediency, access, promises of power, or personal reward.

In the end, Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that while the world constantly changes, a person truly worth your time and trust is one whose values remain as constant as the truth they embody.

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), as we reflect on the lessons of this past year, Colossians 3:15 serves as a powerful reminder that our most important work begins within, by allowing the peace of Christ to act as the “umpire” of our hearts in every decision we make.

Happy Sunday!

Colossians 3:15

Published

As we reflect on the lessons of this past year, Colossians 3:15 serves as a powerful reminder that our most important work begins within, by allowing the peace of Christ to act as the “umpire” of our hearts in every decision we make.

As we step into the New Year, let the defining lesson of 2025 be this: true influence is not found in the sharpest whispers , but in the truth, steady spirit and hard work that chooses gratitude for where we have been and invites the peace of Christ to guide where we are going, setting us toward even greater impact in 2026

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), Isaiah 9:6 offers a powerful guide for personal growth this Christmas season …

Isaiah 9:6

Published

on

Isaiah 9:6 offers a powerful guide for personal growth this Christmas season.

The ‘Wonderful Counselor’ reminds us to seek wisdom and choose discernment instead of reacting impulsively. The ‘Prince of Peace’ calls us to cultivate a steady inner calm that holds firm, even in disagreements and heated debates.

Ultimately, this Scripture invites us to lead with character first – making sure our service flows from a commitment to wisdom, patience, and a peaceful spirit.

Happy Fourth Sunday of Advent!

To repeat from last Sunday (HERE), as we work tirelessly for stronger South Carolina, remember to remain patient, persistent, and firm in pursuing long-term goals, trusting that faithful effort will eventually yield results, much like a farmer’s harvest.

Happy Sunday!
