Wow … have you seen these billboards popping up around the Lexington area … specifically on your drive in to Columbia?
Brutal …
Republican State Senator Katrina Shealy (HERE) of Lexington County is one of the three proud Republican “Sister Senators” that broke with the South Carolina Republican Party Platform and voted against the Fetal Heartbeat Bill earlier this year. (HERE or image below.)
Voting against the SC Republican Platform certainly is their individual prerogative … even if it doesn’t conform to the wishes of their constituents … but there are also ramifications. These billboards are just one.

The move earned Senator Shealy a formal “censure” by the Lexington County Republican Party (HERE) … but most notably she and her two compadres, Senator Penry Gustafson (R – Kershaw) & Senator Sandy Senn (R – Charleston), were NOT “censured” by the SCGOP State Executive Committee.
Does the leadership of the SCGOP … and their Resolutions Committee … support the actions of the three Republican “Sister Senators” voting against life??? More on them later as we explore the “sleepy caucus” of the SCGOP.
Anyhow … although it got Senator Shealy “censured” … it also won the ladies the JFK Profile in Courage Award (HERE). The Democrats loved it.
Wouldn’t it be more courageous to stand up FOR life … as opposed to AGAINST life?
